DAMIR YUSUPOV

Ural Airlines aircraft commander

"I remember one New Year’s story.

On the 31st of December we flew to Switzerland for the hockey team «Avtomobilist», which take a part in a hockey Cup. We arrived in Zurich on an empty plane. City met us with not winter weather, not new year’s weather. It was raining.

We picked up the team and took off. Our flight attendants have prepared for this evening. They dressed up the cabin of the plane, hung up garlands and created a holiday mood. When we gained altitude, of course we congratulated the team with successful performance and with New Year, and then we had a festive dinner. Flying above Germany, we celebrated the New Year in Ural time, right above Moscow, we celebrated the New Year in local Moscow time. Of course, Moscow delighted us with colorful lights, the city seemed like a carpet, which sparkled with flashes of fireworks, which didn’t stop for a second. The mood was very festive. About 4 a.m. we landed in Yekaterinburg, so, our festive flight was over and then I joined my family and we continued to celebrate New Year.

Of course our work assumes that we may celebrate the holidays in the sky, at another cities and counrtiers. But the most important thing is that despite the fact that it is a holiday and a day-off for everyone, we perform flights. We unite cities and help people to see each other.

I want to wish you a coming New Year, wish you good health, happiness, prosperity and fulfillment of your desires!
